The 9th PLA World Congress 2026 will take place on 2-3 June 2026 in Munich, Germany, with online participation also available as a hybrid event.
PLA is one of the bioplastics with the largest market significance. This versatile bioplastics raw material is made almost completely from renewable resources and is used in packaging, fibres, woven and non-woven applications. The automotive and consumer electronics industries are also already applying PLA.
Blending PLA with other bioplastics or other blend partners, as well as combining it with natural fibres such as flax, hemp or kenaf, further broadens the range of applications. The congress will bring together experts from across the value chain to share knowledge, review current opportunities and challenges, and discuss the possibilities, limitations and future prospects of PLA in a wide range of applications.
Format: hybrid event, on-site in Munich and online. All presentations will be recorded and made available for convenient video-on-demand streaming. Networking among attendees and speakers will be supported through the PheedLoop app and platform.
Agenda: subject to changes. Please visit the official event website regularly for updates.
Venue: Holiday Inn Munich City Centre, Hochstr. 3, 81669 Munich, Germany.
The congress will also include a traditional Bavarian Night at the well-known Wirtshaus in der Au in Munich. Details will be provided in the on-site handbook.
